Becoming the artist you know you're capable of becoming requires intentionally and continually pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone.
The good news is that you don't have to push yourself too far or too fast - just a bit, each and every day.
This means being comfortable with being slightly uncomfortable, all the time.
It means intentionally prioritizing your growth.
It means always having the mindset of a student.
It means accepting that you'll make mistakes on your quest to mastery.
It means being patient because mastery takes time.
Often, it helps to have someone guide you who's very supportive but who's also willing to tell it to you like it is.
If you continue along this path of intentional growth and mastery long enough, eventually you'll see a dramatic transformation.
By consistently putting one foot in front of the other, taking one step at a time, at some point, you'll wake up and realize that you're already on top of the mountain.
