Time is an Illusion

So many artists feel that they don’t have enough time, that their time has passed or that they’re too late.

The problem gets compounded when we make comparisons to others and we feel “late” or “behind.”

The truth is that time is an illusion.

I know of a young prodigy who was on the biggest late night shows when he was 5 years old.

That same artist can’t get a gig today.

I’ve also worked with artists who got their first hits when they were in their 30’s and maintained a steady career in music well into their 60’s.

There’s no need to compare your timeline to anyone else’s.

They’re living their lives and you’re living yours.

At this moment, you are right where you need to be.

Your current circumstances are the result of the decisions you’ve made in the past.

Compare yourself only to who you were yesterday.

If you’re better today, even by a small amount, then you’re heading in the right direction.

Your future is yet to be written.

Write it.
